Edward Callahan, Jacqueline Weir, Michael Poirier Elected to Board of Directors for Construction Related Associations BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS, December 8, 2000 - Feeley & Driscoll, P.C., a 90 person Boston-based regional certified public accounting/business consulting firm serving businesses for over twenty-five years is pleased to announce that Mr. Edward J. Callahan, Ms. Jacqueline M. Weir and Mr. Michael J. Poirier have been elected to the Board of Directors for construction related associations. Mr. Edward J. Callahan, CPA is head of the Construction Services Group and a Partner at Feeley & Driscoll, P.C. Ed has over 15 years in public accounting with extensive experience in accounting/tax and business planning issues as they apply to contractors and suppliers. His areas of expertise include information management systems (job cost, accounting, and estimating), operational and financial analysis, workers compensation planning, surety bonding, and banking assistance. Mr. Callahan holds a BS degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) and an MS in Taxation from Bentley College. Mr. Callahan was elected to the Board of Directors for Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) – Massachusetts Chapter (www.agcmass.org). AGC is the nation's largest and oldest construction trade association, established in 1918. Jacqueline M. Weir, CPA is a Partner at Feeley & Driscoll, P.C. with
over thirteen years of experience in public accounting. Her areas of
specialization include auditing and business consulting for the construction
industry. Ms. Weir's extensive background includes an analysis and
evaluation of accounting systems, strategic planning and business
consulting, overhead audits for governmental and state agencies, corporate
and individual income tax returns, operational and financial analysis. Ms.
Weir holds a BS degree in Accounting and AS degree in Management from
Bentley College. Ms. Weir was elected to her second term on the Board of Directors for Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) of Massachusetts (www.abcma.org). ABC is a national trade association representing over 21,000 contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers and related firms from across the country and from all specialties in the construction industry. ABC is the only national association devoted exclusively to the merit shop philosophy, which aims to provide the best management techniques, the finest craftsmanship, and the most competitive bidding and pricing strategies in the industry, regardless of labor affiliation. Mr.
Poirier is a Partner at Feeley & Driscoll, P.C., with over ten years of
professional experience. Concentrating
on the construction industry, Mr. Poirier provides accounting, auditing, and
consulting services. His professional affiliations include the Massachusetts
Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants. He
holds a BS in Accounting from Northeastern University. Mr. Poirier was elected to the Board of Directors for the American Subcontractors Association, Inc. (ASA) of Massachusetts (www.associatedsubs.com). The American Subcontractors Association was founded in 1966 and serves 6,500 firms nationwide. ASA is affiliated with 56 local and state chapters that provide subcontractors with comprehensive resources, safety and educational programs, networking, and government relations activities.
