Medicare Appeals

Feeley & Driscoll can review your cost reports after they have been audited to determine if adjustments were made by the fiscal intermediary which are contrary to the Medicare regulations and therefore, subject to the appeal process.

At Feeley & Driscoll we have found that many providers do not appeal audit adjustments that the fiscal intermediaries made in error for many reasons, including:

  • Limited staff to devote to the appeal process
  • Uncertainty regarding how the appeal process works
  • Difficulty determining which issues can be appealed.

Find out how our healthcare accounting consultants can add value to your business. Email us or call us at 1 (888) 875-9770.

Feeley & Driscoll has staff who deal with cost reports, the adjustments made by the intermediary and the intermediary on a continuous basis. Our staff will come to your facility and review the report (s). We will discuss any potential issues with you in order to determine that the issues raised are accurate. We will prepare the initial appeal-filing letter and outline the documentation necessary to support the appeal position. In addition, we will work with the fiscal intermediary to attempt to resolve the issues appealed. In the event that there are issues on which we cannot agree, Feeley & Driscoll will assist the facility's attorneys in preparing the required position paper and we will provide support to the facility through the remainder of the appeal process.

Medicare appeals can identify additional opportunities to add value to our services. Medicare cost reports and re-openings are included in these value-added services.
