Messenger-Model-Black-Box Rate Analyses

Due to the confidentiality of commercial payer contracts and the legal issues surrounding the sharing of such rates, Feeley & Driscoll, P.C. performs messenger-model-black-box rate analyses for providers and payers who are interested in learning how their rates compare on average to the commercial rates of other providers.

The parties send the appropriate fee schedules to F&D, and F&D keeps the rates in strict confidence. Using the fee schedules and a specified volume data set, Feeley & Driscoll, P.C. performs the rate analysis but only reports back to the parties on how the rates collectively compare to a specified benchmark on a weighted average basis.

Depending on the number of providers involved in a particular analysis, F&D can also average the rates of the various providers and report back on the average rates as multiples of Medicare rates.
