An Updated PS&R System – Action Required

CMS has redesigned Provider Statistical & Reimbursement (PS&R) reports for those cost reporting periods on or after January 31, 2009.  Summary reports will no longer be issued for cost reporting periods after this date.  It is important that all providers have established registration with CMS to receive PS&R summary reports for future cost report filings.

Having all PS&R reports available on the internet will streamline the process and in turn will be advantageous to all parties involved. To gain access to these new reports, providers must register on the CMS website.  Below are the steps that you will need to take:

Step 1: Register on the CMS website ( https://applications.cms.hhsgov)  and sign up in IACS (Individuals Authorized Access to the CMS Computer Services) security system.

Step 2: Set up a Security Official (SO) that will approve user access to the new redesign.  The SO will mail in documentation to confirm the organization is an approved Medicare Provider.

Step 3: Once the final approval is completed, the end user will follow the reference guide and begin registration.  Their approval request will go to the Security Official and can be completed that day.
